My younger brother Jason, was born a healthy baby boy. Unfortunately he had a reaction to the whooping cough injection and was left mentally and physically brain damaged, and left him suffering with epilepsy. He was a gorgeous little boy, He couldn't walk, talk or even eat solid food, everything had to be mashed up as if he was literally a baby.
He went to Lourdes (twice) with my Mother, the Nuns told her that he was going to get better, as he screamed when he went into the holy water. My Mum, put so much into what the Nuns had said to her and he was due to fly to Philladelphia. But sadly he passed away about two weeks before he was due to go.
After one of his visits to Lourdes he did learn to say my name Debba (it's Debra), I can still hear him saying it, as I would walk into the room. He used to sit in a special chair, which was made for him as he could not support himself, and he used to love holding his Octagon shaped mirror. It had holes around the edges and he learnt to look in the mirror to see who was walking in or out of the room.
On that fateful evening Jason was in bed, my mum and sister were downstairs. Then we heard his scream, we all rushed upstairs, but he had already gone to Jesus.
Jason, even after all these years your family have never forgotten you. Our Mum, I don't think she will ever get over losing you. You are always in my heart, I love you dearly little brother and always will.
Your big sister Debbie xxx
